Norman Scott

Friday's guest speaker was Norman Scott, with Turning Point Center For Youth & Family Development, Inc.
Norman told us that TP is funded primarily through Medicaid (about 80%).  He didn't come to ask us primarily for money, however (although he did), but instead encouraged any of us to become mentors to the kids in the program.  He told us that for every dollar spent on treatment, four dollars is avoided on incarceration, probation, etc.
Turning Point now has about 70 clients, with an annual budget of about seven million (!!).  Norman told us that alcohol and marijuana cause most problems here in Ft. Collins, unlike Illinois, where he told us methamphetamine addiction/abuse is running rampant.  Guess we oughta' be happy about that, relatively speaking.  www.turningpnt.org

This reads "OPTICAL ILLUSION"  Can you see both words?

Jim Manning had a brag for the 231st birthday of the Marine Corp.
(although I did not see a check for that amount!)

Tim  Miller wasn't in attendance, so Dave Blomberg passed on a brag from him:
If you saw and enjoyed the video last week of the Ferrari through Paris, Timmy is offering rides with Dani for $5 that will really give you a thrill!

John K told us that Judge Williams, in the recent election, had the highest percentage of retention vote!

He also reminded us that this week's game with TCU starts at
5 P.M., so be there by 3.

If anyone is able to get out to The Ranch November 15th from 4 - 7 P.M., you can help Larry Chaussee sell tickets for the Mustang.  He's gonna' pick the car up and get it there, but it would be nice if he could get a little help with sales.  Call Larry:  481-6840 if you would like to help.

The Sertoma Board will meet on November 14th (Tuesday!) AT NORTH AMERICAN TITLE COMPANY  AT 5:30 p.m.   Come and eat pizza and drink beer with us!

Bob Reed's niece, Kelly

This is just such a nice picture of Kelly reminding us to get our gifts in for Bob Reed's Christmas kids, I thought I would leave it in for everyone to enjoy!  P.S.  Buy 'em today!

Say "Cheese"

We have four dates for the Mustang at the Mall.  They are:

1.  Thursday, November 30 through Saturday, December 2
2.  Saturday, December 16th

Since the drawing to determine the winner is on December 23rd, these four dates will almost certainly be our last opportunity to make sales.

To date we have raised $8,700.  We need $21,000 just to break even.

The mall hours will be 10 a.m. till 10 p.m. Nov. 30, Dec. 1 and Dec. 3.
On Saturday, Dec. 2nd, and 16th the hours are 8 a.m. - 10 p.m.
Try to schedule a shift (or two!) that you can help with sales on these days.

You are driving in a car at a constant speed. On your right side is a 'drop off' (The ground is 18-20 inches below the level you are traveling on), and on your left side is a fire engine traveling at the same speed as you. In front of you is a galloping horse which is the same size as your car and you cannot overtake it. Behind you is another galloping horse Both horses are traveling at the same speed as you. What must you do to safely get out of this highly dangerous situation?
