In the Bible, it doesn't say there
were three Wise Men. |
|
In
Russia, Santa is known as Ded Moroz
(Grandfather Frost). |
|
The name of the horse in the timeless
holiday song "Jingle Bells" is
Bobtail. Hence the line "bells on
Bobtail ring, making spirits bright." |
|
Frosty's last
words were,
"Merry Christmas
to all, to all a
good night!"

Brother Dave B. thanked everyone who participated in beer sales this year ~ John K. reported that we should show a return of around $8,500 for our efforts. (Just enough to cover the deficit for the Mustang, eh???)

"Tougher than I am!"
|
Greg Anderson's 16 year old daughter, Sadie, is once again in the news. After going to Tennessee to participate in STATE rugby tournament play, she is now ONE OF TWO chosen to play NATIONALLY!!
Sadie was recently described by an opposing coach as
"The most deadly player in the state"! WOW! |
John Pharris, recently returned from a Caribbean vacation, said "Things are good down here, mon"!
Larry Glass told us that the Sertoma gift exchange will be on Friday, December 22nd. Bring a trashy or gag gift, or a nice one, but don't spend over $10 ~ $15. This is a CLOSED meeting, so don't bring guests, wives, or girlfriends. There will be, as usual, an open bar.
Bill Benton was recognized (AND received a FREE PIZZA CERTIFICATE) for correctly checking IDs during beer sales at Hughes Stadium
Dr. John had a brag for Rex Smithgall ~ he told us how Rex has some distant redneck relatives in Yazoo City, Mississippi. After NINE KIDS, they recently went to the doctor to see about getting the husband "fixed".
The doctor gladly started the required procedure and asked them what finally made them make the decision, after NINE KIDS. The husband said they had read in a recent article that one out of every ten children born in the US was Mexican and they didn't want to take a chance on having a Mexican baby because neither one of them could speak Spanish!

Dr. John bragged that
he and Brad Florin
(and the lovely
Lisa, of course)
ably represented our
Sertoma Club at this
year's Madrigal Dinner
event at the Unitarian
church. |
A Sertoma golf tournament is being planned for Friday, June 8th at Mariana Buttes. Shotgun start on Friday at 7:30 a.m., with a 72 player minimum. More on this as it happens. We might do this as a project fund raiser, or to pay off the Mustang.
SKI TRIP ~ FEBRUARY 9TH
Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by Saint Peter at the pearly gates. "In honor of this holy season," Saint Peter said,
"you must each possess something that symbolizes Christmas to get into heaven."
The first man fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a lighter. He flicked it on. It represents a candle, he said.
You may pass through the pearly gates Saint Peter said.
The second man reached into his pocket and pulled out a set of keys. He shook them and said, "They're bells."
Saint Peter said you may pass through the pearly gates.
The third man started searching desperately through his pockets and finally pulled out a pair of women's panties.
St. Peter looked at the man with a raised eyebrow and asked, "And just what do those symbolize?"
The man replied, "These are Carols."
And So The Holiday Season Begins.

YOKOHAMA TIRES SUCK!!!
. . . . I thought I'd share this with everyone ~ Last Saturday Carole and I were returning home from Denver on I-25 when my left rear tire failed CATASTROPHICALLY! As you can see from the picture, the outer casing separated from the sidewall. Without going into a GREAT deal of detail, suffice it to say that I maintain my tires well (air pressure, rotate, etc.), and there was no external reason for this to happen.
After searching the internet, I found out I have a lot of company. For an interesting site, go to:
