HISTORY

The Tanzania Peaberry is produced mostly from the north slopes of the mountains in Africa; grown mainly in the central region of Mt. Kenya.
African tribesmen originally believed the coffee cherries held magical powers. The tribesmen crushed the cherries and mixed them with fat for strength and endurance during hunting and war.
This coffee has the winey acidity and bright, hearty character that makes the African coffees some of the most famous in the world. This bean comes as a small, round, washed full sized peaberry. The peaberry has always been known to be the "best of the crop", and the Tanzanian is no exception. We roast this bean to a deep, caramelly Viennese roast to bring out all the nuances and flavors of this delicious African coffee. This distinctively full bodied coffee has a bright and lively acidity that has to be tasted to be believed!
