Roasting - Coffee roasting is a process of pyrolysis which, by increasing the temperature of the coffee from room temperature to 300-430 degrees ideally within the space of 10-15 minutes , brings about marked physical and chemical changes in the beans that improve the quality of coffee and make it easier to prepare*.
Roasting can take place in a drum roaster, a fluid bed roaster, an air-pop popcorn machine, or even a black, cast iron skillet.
