Last week, The Fort Collins Sertoma ("Service To Mankind") Club was thanked for its donations of $32,000 over the last five years to the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County. Kathy Wright, executive director of the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County, made the announcement in celebration of National Boys and Girls Club Week. Sertoma members have witnessed the tremendous impact that the Boys and Girls Club, which provides a safe place to go after school to learn and have fun, has made in these young lives. At the annual "Breakfast With Our Champions" held at The Ranch, impressive speeches given by Boys and Girls club members revealed how their challenging lives were impacted by the Boys and Girls Club.

This picture has NOT run yet, but we're told that someday it may.

Over this Sertoma Club's 38 years of existence, we have supported many other youth-oriented organizations including CASA, Partners, Realities For Children, Respite Care, and many others. Sertoma also purchases Christmas presents for children in need. We have also been involved in a number of hands-on work projects. One of our two current projects is putting up U.S. flags on nine holidays per year at businesses that pay an annual subscription fee. If interested in this service, call Scott Billington at 226-3990. The club's next fund raising golf tournament is June 8 at Mariana Butte. Contact Terry Danielson at 226-0919 for details. While giving back to our community, we feel we are making a positive difference for our youth and are having a good time while serving.
